As a nod to Tokyo's 2020 (2021) Olympic Games, Nike unveils its updated Metallic Gold Air Max 97. A silhouette inspired by Japan's bullet train, sees its upper drawing influence from the shiny Gold Medals worn by champion athletes succeeding in their respective sports during the Olympics.

A relative to the original 'Metallic Gold' Air Max 97, this Quickstrike features a shinier liquid gold like upper, that sees the usual mesh paneling substituted out for more 'Gold Medal'. Contrasting the precious metal, is a crisp white midsole, and lining. Finally, the luxurious sneaker sees its Air Unit painted in gold, and a translucent outsole, speckled with gold flakes.
