The New Balance 850 made its debut in 1996. It was a departure for the brand, making its aim at a younger audience. This was the first model to make the change from "N' branding to "NB' as it now appears on the heel and tongue. The upper is comprised of leather and mesh. The carbon rubber outsole contains Rollbar technology to reduce rear- foot movement.
